Guess What I Think of The Winter 2015 Anime Season?

Let’s cut to the chase and rank the anime I’ve watched enough of to have an opinion on along with my overall comments on the season as a whole.

1. Death Parade

2. Yuri Kuma Arashi

3. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 2

4. Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!

5. Durarara!!x2 Shou

6. Maria the Virgin Witch

7. Tantei Opera Milky Holmes TD

8. The Rolling Girls

9. Yoru no Yatterman

Overall Comments:

– This Winter was a step-up from the usual fare, but as much as I enjoyed Death Parade, it’s nowhere near something I’d call a grade-A anime. Yuri Kuma Arashi is only as high as it because it’s not bad. Everything below it on the other hand…

– …okay, I’ll admit this new iteration of Jojo isn’t bad either. I watched a few episodes based on my colleagues hyping them up and they didn’t bore me. They just didn’t do much for me either. It’s sad to say, but Jojo’s style just doesn’t appeal to me these days. I don’t care about the poses. I don’t care about the nonsense. I don’t care about the theatrics. I just can’t get into this stuff anymore.

– Maria the Virgin Witch was close to getting in the top three, but those last two episodes took such a downturn. In fact, this was a real shitty season for endings in general.

– Didn’t rank Garo or Parasyte because they’re carry-overs, but if I had, Garo would be #1 whilst Parasyte would be somewhere between Jojo and Durarara. Oh wait, I could just rank the Fall shows again. Okay, so from what I remember of what I saw of the Fall season along with some readjustment of priorities since I last ranked said season, it’d be like this: Garo > Psycho-Pass 2 Mushishi Zoku Shou > Otaku Husband > Rage of Bahamut > Amagi Brilliant Park >>> His-Cool Seha Girls Parasyte > Shirobako > F/SN: UBW > Inou-Battle > Your Lie In April > Terraformars.

– Already did reviews for Parasyte, The Rolling Girls, and Garo, and I’ll try to review all the other anime I finished over the next season. As a rule, barring unforeseen delays, I’ll only post reviews on Monday and am only allowing myself a maximum of three reviews in one day. Didn’t finish Jojo, Milky Holmes, or Bouei-bu, so I’m not going to bother reviewing them. And obviously, I didn’t touch Kuroko or Idolm@ster. Go look at the blogs on my blogroll if you want to see praise towards those shows, as well as praise regarding how this anime season is the best EVAR! Hahaha, no.

– Alright, let’s see what’s review-worthy in the Spring and what I’ll actually enjoy in the process.
